Finis Lap Counter April 3, 2008 J. Tandy (Sydney Australia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am very pleased with the Lap Counter. It is very easy to use, even though the instructions were not very clear. The touch screen is easy to use. It records accurately each time. I use the suction caps rather than the metal hook only because of the shape of our pool. If the Lap Counter is not properly secured to the wall it floats on the water and does not lose any data which has been already entered. I very much enjoy the Lap Counter and find swimming more fun because I no longer worry about how many laps have I swum because the Finis Lap Counter records it all for me. It's a good size counter, light weight and accurate. I'm very happy with it.
Marginal Product June 18, 2008 Glenn Seeber 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lap timer is only marginal. The digits are hard to read in the sun. You cannot leave it out in the sun or you have to let it cool down before it will work again. Counts only up to 50 laps. With a 40 foot pool I want to swim more than 50 laps. Directions are useless, figure it out by trial and error.
Why Did I buy this? November 9, 2006 D. Scott Thompson (Maryland) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is not a very user friendly piece of equipment. The instruction sheet is confusing to use. The worst option is that it has a metric or english standard. That said, common sense would lead one to beleive that it would measure in meters or yards. But not this, it measures in meters and miles! I can easliy convert the meters to yards - it is simple math - but why would they not use yards!! It has way more features than I really needed, some are cool, but why would I want an alarm clock on my lap counter? I am sure there might be a reason, but I haven't discovered that yet! I should have gotten the thumb counter and save some cash.
