This train was my grandsons favorite. He played and played with it and was not willing to go to bed.He is 3 yrs old and I gave it to him on his older brothers birthday. He did not want to play with the big boy toys he wanted his train.

My boys were very excited to get Spencer and Edward. This is a great midrange set. I would give it 5 stars except the bridge and the signal fall over within a minute of my 2 year old twins playing with them.
Edward the Almost Great Set August 30, 2008

We ordered this set for our two year old Thomas addicted son as a way to get a couple new engines and some additional track and accessories. The only problem with the set is that Spencer is a very long engine and the curved track that came with the set and we always run into problems going around the corners, especially if you make a longer train. It can get a little frustrating for a little kid when the trains keep falling off the track.
Still, it's the same high quality product and it just tests Mom and Dad's track building skills to set up a large radius loop with small radius sidings.
