Another Great Leapster Game March 3, 2005 anon_2003 (usa) 52 out of 52 found this review helpful
Given the other reviews and the age on the box, I was hesitant to get this for my 4 1/2 YO. But he loves Spiderman and he was so happy to get it. This game is too advanced for him, but the hints help him figure things out and he prefers to play this game with me. I give him more hints and take turns with him and he thinks it's great. However, I do think this cartridge would be more appropriate and fun for 6-8 YO. The game is very well done. I didn't like that all the games are "locked" until the child reads the story. But they only have to read the story once and it is a good story. As they go through the chapters the games open up. There are 5 games. The one where the green goblin surfs though the story and misspells words for the child to find is a little long, but again my 4.5 YO enjoys it, so probably an older child would like it even more. And the 4 other games on the cartridge are really cool. The makers of this game turned spelling into "code breaking", that's cool. Everything on the cartridge has an attractive, hip, video game like appearance. The Spiderman character looks believable. The voices on the cartridge do not sound like the movie ones, but they still fit the characters nicely. My teen will also sneak peeks at this game occasionally, so I know it passes the "cool" test. Since getting this game my son is starting to spell better - the educational element is definitely there. Highly recommended!
AWESOME! January 17, 2005 MC Mel 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
My soon to be 6 year old daughter loves leapster and spiderman so I thought this game would be awesome for her. Initially I had to help her a little with the sign scramble - (letters are mixed up and you have to rearrange what they should be) but she got the hang of it quickly. The cartridge takes you thru a story and as you go thru mini chapters of the story you are then able to play various games on the cartridge. AT different points when you crack the code you are given a password that you log onto leapfrog from your computer and print out a spidey mask and other cool pics. She loved this! We gave it to her for xmas and she played it in the car NON STOP for 3 hours to my inlaws. she loved it. It continues to be a favorite and she is still on level 1! I am puzzled from the other reviewer for her grandsons that said the game only lets you do one thing. This is not the case at all. When you put the cartridge in there are many options as to read the story, read and play and games. Read the story and as you go thru it you are invited to play various games. Maybe you ddint' go far enough into the story? I don't know...but the game is awesome for my daughter!
Great game for L-Max! July 29, 2006 carolyn (Canal Winchester, OH) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I too was hesitant to buy this for my five-year-old but since Spiderman and all the other superheroes reign in toyland here, I boughtit and boy, talk about the hit of the day! It is a little harder than the batman game, why, I have no idea. Math seems to be a breeze in our house but since Spidey has to do with writing and spelling, he poses more of a challenge. However, I bought this in preparation for kindergarten and it was most definitely a wise choice. My little one has learned a TON from this thing - how to spell a bunch of words and recognize different letters in words. It's been a great, great investment and I highly recommend it!
great game January 22, 2005 suzyqt1 (california) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 5 year old loves Spederman, and I would say that this cartridge is a bit too advanced for him. I had to help him through the first phase. On the other had, he still finds this game to be entertaining because he will still sit and play this game as his first choice.

My son is ADHD and cannot put this game down. He loves his leapster and Spider-Man. I wish Santa had given him this two years ago.
