This product works well. In my opinion it makes too much crackle noise.
I attached it to the back of my electric fireplace via velcro. I have found if you keep the volume down, it gives an atmosphere that it is a real fire.
It does eat through the battery quickly, so I plug mine in. I could not imagine pumping this noise through your home stereo, it would be too much. I like mine and it does what it is suppose to do. I have not seen or used others, so this is based solely on my use of this device. Would I reccomend this? I would say yes, because it does add a "realness" to my otherwise faux fire.

I purchased the Krackelbox as a housewarming gift along with an electric fpl. It's small and easy to hide behind plants and picture frames that sit on the mantel. The sound can be used by itself, using the internal speaker or in conjunction with a surround sound/home audio system. It's a little pricey for what it does but it certainly adds to the reality of the experience. Since purchasing this item I have found that for less you can purchase a CD of fireplace sounds OR for a bit more you can buy a mantel clock with the sound box already installed. Overall, I am satified with the purchase and so are the people I bought it for.

This item, made in China, was purchased for use with electric fireplace logs. It is a clever idea but the result is disappointing. The sound is more like someone throwing pebbles on a tin roof than the crackling and popping of burning logs. As another reviewer noted, the device sounds best when the volume control on the unit is turned down low. It might have improved sound quality if connected to an external speaker with better bass response than the built-in speaker, but this option may not be feasible for some users. Also, the instructions indicate that because of the possibility of heat damage, it cannot be used inside the fireplace if it is a gas fireplace or an electric fireplace equipped with a heater.

The company that you have partnered with has not shipped the purchased item! If I do not receive it within the next ten days I expect to have my credit card credited for the total amount of this purchase.
I am disappointed in Amazon. I have e-mailed once before stating that the item was not received!
