Best heater around November 16, 2007 veer (ca, usa) 49 out of 51 found this review helpful
I tried many heaters, like ceramic with fan, ceramic without fan and this one turned out to be the best. The heaters with fan make lots of noise and its difficult to sleep. Also the ceramic heaters tend to burn oxygen in air because of very hot coil making you feel sick. On top of it, small ceramic heaters cause uneven heating making you feel even more sick. DeLonghi EW7707CM heater has none of these problems. Because of its large size it can evenly heat the room. Its fins are not very hot so do not burn the air. We received it in 2 days. After using it in our 10x10 bedroom, we feel very cozy and we can sleep very well. Also this is very good looking heater. You can spend more money one time but you wont regret it.
Wonderful when used properly (e.g. at night). December 21, 2007 P. Murthy 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
After reading many of the reviews on Amazon, I purchased this delonghi heater. I can't be happier with its performance. I believe the more positive reviews are a result of using this heater as it was designed - to gradually maintain a slow heat in a small-mid sized enclosed room (say, 20x20 with 9' ceilings). If you want to quickly heat a large room with a blast of hot air, get something with a fan or turn up the thermostat. We use this heater at night. It does such an effective job of keeping our room at a comfortable 70F (even at lower settings), that we have programmed our central heat thermostat to go down to 60F at night. Of course, the effectiveness of the heater is also dependent on how well your house is insulated. There were some comments about the heater getting hot to the touch. Well, yes, of course it does - it's a heater! But even at it's highest setting, the metal is not sizzling. It is well insulated enough that you can touch it for a few seconds before it gets uncomfortable - plenty of time for the occasional times you may bump into it. At lower settings - this isn't even an issue. Why an oil-filled heater? It produces a very gentle heat without drying the air like a conventional ceramic or electric heater. Why the delonghi? Gentle heat without any sound. We purchased the Honeywell 7-Fin Oil-Filled Radiator Heater as well (they were out of stock of the delonghi), and while it heats fine, it creaks and cracks when you use it. I'm sure this is due to the metal expanding and contracting as it gets warmer and cooler. It's not a huge problem, but if you are a light sleeper, it may be an annoyance. The only downside I can think of is the wheels. Doesn't roll well on carpet - which is fine, we don't' move it much anyway. But overall, love the delonghi. We've had it for 2 weeks now and I hope it lasts this way for several years.
BRRRRRR December 12, 2007 J. May (Pleasant Hill, MO USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I purchased this heater to supplement a new bathroom built onto my home. The room is 16' x 21'and I was skeptical that it would be warm this winter, but with this heater I no longer have that concern. It keeps this room very cozy; in fact when I first started to use it I set the Comfortemp setting and quickly realized that was just too warm. I now use just the thermostat and it keeps this room nice and toasty. There are conventional heating vents from the furnace but something extra was needed because of the size. This heater comes with a terrific price tag and I like the fact that it does not get hot on the outside so as to cause burns if touched. I recommend this if you are looking for a smaller, but functional and inexpensive heater.
Excellent product - highly recommend December 7, 2007 T. Horsmann (Minnesota, USA) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
This is the 2nd DeLonghi oil-filled heater I've purchased and I've been nothing but satisfied. We're heating an 18x12 room (with 14ft vaulted ceilings), and we seldom have to turn the control past the first couple of temp levels (this is in Minnesota!) - it really kicks out the heat. We always use the ComforTemp setting, which was part of the decision to buy this model - it helps save energy and costs. The unit is lightweight and easy to use, with simple controls. It's a great option instead of running your home furnace all the time - no noise, or hot air blowing on you - and it's reduced our electricity bill. You can use this unit right out of the box - no set up or assembly needed. Amazon sells it at a great price (I found the exact model for up to $25+ more).
I love this heater! December 26, 2007 Kitty Karma (Seattle, WA USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I spent hours researching oil-filled heaters, and finally chose this one. It is the most amazing heater ever. It is quiet, heats up fast, retains heat, and is just the best. My 3 cats position themselves around it--I feel like I finally have a fireplace, but without the mess. I may need to buy a second one, though, because I am getting tired of unplugging it and rolling it to another cold room to do its outstanding job of warming.
