Works beautifully and quick set-up September 5, 2008 Troy P. Barwick (Warrenton, VA United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Love this scanner. Had it unboxed and set up on my iMac in 5 minutes. Easy button access for email or copying works great. You definately get great value for the dollar, and the fact that it doesn't need AC power makes it even better.
Scanner is great October 8, 2008 Philip D. Rogers 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this scanner to use on the road to scan pictures and genealogy files. It's very easy to use and has much better resolution than the stick scanners and is powered via the computer.
Works great with Vista! November 21, 2008 Robert P. Fredericks (Belleplain, NJ USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just recieved my scanner and I was scanning/croping and saving pictures 15 minutes after taking it out of the box. It's so easy, with one click you are done. I put 6 photos on the glass and it cropped and saved all of them in the destination folder. The scans look great from photos from the late 40's,early 50's.
Excellent Scanner for the Price November 23, 2008 Christopher J. Toy 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this scanner because I had purchased digital frames for all my kids, and I wanted to go through our family photos and load the best of them into the frames. When I priced the cost of having someone else do the scanning, I discovered that stores wanted at least a dollar a scan. Since I was going to have at least one hundred photos, I decided that buying my own scanner was the way to go. This scanner was up and running in about ten minutes. First, load the software, then connect the scanner. The software opens, and you are off and running. Second, the software allows you to make quick scans, or you can open the driver and make all sorts of adjustments. Third, I especially appreciated the adjustments that the software will make for faded prints and covering dust and scratches. In addition, if your photos are relatively small, the software will detect and crop more than one photo on the patten. In addition, if you have photos mounted in albums (and were stupid enough to make them unremovable, the cover will accommodate thick objects, so all is not lost. Finally, the fact that the scanner gets all its power from the USB port saves having to find and outlet for yet one more power cord; also, it's really quiet. I have realized that it may solve magazine pack-rat problem too. Now we can scan in the articles we want to save (and someday read in the next century) so we can ditch the piles of magazines.
Well Worth it! December 22, 2008 Daniel L. Urbanski (Lebanon, In) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this for a few months now, I had family photo's from the 1940's to date, thousands of photo's to place on a disk. This scanner worked so quickly and quietly I was extremely pleased to leave this review. The quality of the scans, went far beyond my expectations, and the software was adequate for most photos that need retouched. I've gone through thick yearbooks, newspaper clippings, and shiny magazines and consistently was impressed with the quality of each photo. I've used the scan for 3,200 plus photo's to date and I still have three large stacks of various size photo's to go. If I run into a glich in the future I'll update this review, if not then this continues to be one hell of a first rate scanner.
