Great as both a light and an IPod player! January 16, 2008 David Nelson (Washington state) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought the light as it was about the brightest I have seen in the size unit, but was even more impressed when listening to the quality of the sound when playing my IPod Nano on it. For the size of it, this is an impressive little gem!

Perfect for work. iHome needs a new line called iWork...but I digress. I use it to play my Ipod and in lieu of my PC speakers via the line-in port. The lamp also comes with a 1/8" stereo cable (I suppose to use the lamp for PC speakers) and loads of iPod cradle adapters for the nano, 2G, 5G, etc. My only complaint is that there is static when using the headphone jack on this lamp. Not a big deal if you're listening to the music at a normal level, but I have to keep the music low so I can listen for the phone or other coworkers. When it really starts bothering me, I simply use the headphone jack on the iPod, turn down the lamp volume all the way, and set the volume on the iPod. The remote can then be used to control tracks but not volume. Not sure if others are having this issue. I usually use the external speakers at a low volume, so again, not a big deal. I actually bought this at Lowes on sale. I really wanted the black one to match my black 5G iPod, but when I got to the register, I was informed that the black lamps weren't on sale...only the white ones. It was a good $50 difference so I got the white one. Now I see on Amazon that the black one is a good $20 cheaper than the white one. Whatever. My coworker just got the black one and I think the white one looks a little better. Plus, the black iPod stands out against it. I'm about to get an iPhone and I can't find any information about whether this lamp will work with the iPhone. Anyone?
