What's up ya'll they definitely don't come any realer than this. RBL Posse's is one of FRISCO'S and the Bay Area's best. It's funny after reading all the reviews and after all these years there is nothing I can disagree w/ except that after bumpin' this in your ride, boom box, or while riding underground in the MUNI, you definitely can get a taste of the SFC lifestyle, sound, taste, and culture. RBL are seasoned vets that came harder than most back in a time when most folks were barely putting it down for their towns. MASTERPIECE, CLASSIC, SIMPLY SFC'S FINEST, all these are words that fall way short of describing what RBL put down for their town and the whole bay w/ this album. From Top 2 Bottom the cd is one you can just pop in your deck and let play over & over again... RIP Mr. Cee, Cougnut, and Pac. 1 luv. -2002 out and peace to the cats bumpin' this back in '92, back in the days, when I was barely coming up and couldn't afford to cop this disc.
ALWAYS ON POINT.... January 15, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first I bought this Album was in the early part of 93. I was in the swap meet down on Slauson in L.A., heard it bumping and asked who it was. I bought it. I next heard them on West Coast Bad Boys with Master P, making a dollar out of fifteen cents. I've bought this album 3 times. If you loan it out, you won't get it back. Plus, this one's hard to get now. It took me 2 months to get it this last time via special order. So, order now before its gone. The beats are fat and original. The lyrics are dope and original. Especially the cut with Totally Insane. It's 2000 and I'm still bumping it. Plus their other ones too. If anyone know where I can find RBL Posse's Hitman "Solo Creep" let me know. You have to get this if you like gangsta rap music. THEY AIN'T NO JOKE.

EARLY GAME POPPIN OFF OUTTA HUNTERS POINT,SAN FRANCISCO JUST LIKE I.M.P.,C.W.H.,G.R.P.,RAPPIN 4-TAY,JT THE BIGGA FIGGA & DRE-DOG-R.B.L. POSSE'S 1ST ALBUM "A LESSON TO BE LEARNED" WAS AN INSTANT CLASSIC W/TRACKS LIKE "DON'T GIVE ME NO BAMMER WEED" & "G'S BY THE 1,2,3'S" FEAT.TOTALLY INSANE-THIS ALBUM IS FIVE STAR MATERIAL FO'SHO-GREAT TA BUMP ALL THA WAY THRU-DONT SLEEP ON THIS 1 ALONG W/THIER 2ND "RUTHLESS BY LAW" & HITMAN'S(R.I.P.) "SOLO CREEP" R.I.P. TO MR.CEE FOUNDER OF THE RIGHT WAY RECORDS-ALSO PEEP N.O.H. MAFIA-"N#GG%Z ON HIGH"
This is quite possibly the best rap album ever. November 5, 1998 A Lesson to be Learned is a musical masterpiece. It is honest and from the heart. These guys haven't learned about the streets by watching t.v. They've lived the life that they rap about. Don't let the song titles discourage you. Bitches on the Ding Dong and More Like an Orgy are not 2 Live Crew revisited. They are rather two stellar songs about the love these guys have for the ladies. This album is not for the kiddies, it is for the G's and the pimps and serious rap fans. The beats hit and the lyrics mean something. Unfortunately the man behind the music, Mista C, passed away last year in a drive by shooting. You have to buy this album if you consider yourself a music fan of any kind.
LOOK DOWN April 3, 1999 The man just said it all what more can I say!!
