Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This high performance UHF antenna has a higher gain and a smaller beam angle than conventional yagi antennas. The reflector grids create an improved front to back ratio with shorter construction while the 91 elements truly make it one of the highest gain UHF antennas available.Although the 91XG is one of the highest gain UHF antennas made, it is also very directional. If you live more than 60 miles from the transmitters, you must get as much elevation on the antenna as possible. Even with its great gain, it cannot pick up signals blocked by the curvature of the earth.

5 out of 5 stars What more can I say?   November 21, 2007

This antenna has to be the longest range UHF antenna out there - I live at least 75 miles from the transmitter on Sutro Tower, San Francisco (100 driving). Not to mention I'm in the woods and have only one clear shot to the horizon to the South. Although it's not perfect this antenna does pick up all the major networks even those broadcasting at 100Kw. Personally I'm astonished but make sure you download a PDF of the instructions which is available from solidsignal.com because cryptic would be to describe using the instructions to get the antenna out of the box. Admittedly I put it up completely backwards with the corner screens facing front at first and then finally realized immediately after looking at the PDF a few weeks later that the antenna was backwards. When I turned it around and reversed the direction of all the reflectors so that they were all metal sides facing front the antenna started picking up the fore mentioned extended channels.

5 out of 5 stars Recieve the unreceiveable   May 9, 2008

If you are looking for an antenna that goes beyond local and past the horizon (60 miles) this is the antenna that does it. Just remember the farther away the more directional and fussy any signal is. You need an accurate rotor for the best setup. Paired with the Channel Master 7777 preamp as well.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased with performance   June 15, 2008

Excellent deep fringe performer, especially if you live in a high mutlipath area. Very light, and built to withstand almost any foul weather. It is "very" directional; so you will probably need a rotor if your stations are coming from different directions.

4 out of 5 stars 91xG hdtv antenna   December 22, 2007

Shipping was pretty good, everything packed well; when I went to put it together everything was fine till I mounted the elements on the boom, the elements where loose they moved around in the wind, so I had to put little plastic wedges in the element clips so they where snug on the boom. The element problem made it a little disappointing.
I get all the Los Angeles HDTV channels with a pre-amp I have a hill between me and Mount Wilson I live in Sylmar SFV

4 out of 5 stars Pulls in distant HDTV stations   May 12, 2008
Robert Bielk
Good for reception of distant HDTV stations. Not as sturdy in appearence as other antennas I've had, but it is light weight, reasonably priced and functionally very good. It is highly directional and works best with an antenna rotator.
