Content: 5 Stars Packaging: -5 Stars October 13, 2008 VML 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have the same complaints as most of you folks. The packaging of the box set was terrible. I wrote and complained to the Fox Home Entertainment Dept. I suggest that you all do the same, so we will have change for the release of Season 12+. The email address is: foxmovies@fox.com
Tough season to write for without Phil May 1, 2008 B. Mehrtens (Illinois) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
Those who insist on negatively commenting on The Simpsons' "decline" in the eleventh season should really give the writers more credit. This was the first season written and produced without the beloved and wildly talented Phil Hartman, who voiced a good deal of miscellaneous characters throughout the previous seasons--the most noteworthy being Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz. It was no secret that he was a favorite among the writers and I'm sure they felt the personal and professional loss on a deep level. For those who felt something was missing from The Simpsons from this season forward, this may well be your answer. All things considered, I think this is one of the better seasons of The Simpsons.
Great Season but bad packaging November 3, 2008 The Big Cheese 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, so this is an awesome season of the simpsons. I love the episode where they think Bart has ADD. But, the packaging is just awful. Sure the Krusty case looks SUPER COOL, but once you get inside you see that the dvds slide into slots instead of just being placed in like typical dvd cases. I scratch my dvds almost every time I get them out. So, heads up on that. This is definitely worth buying, though, simply because it's a really funny season.
Limited Edition = Standard Edition + Krusty October 7, 2008 Pope Clement VII (Vatican City) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a review specifically of the packaging of Season 11. We all know whether or not season 11 was worth buying. Anyways, I just received this DVD. First thing I noticed is that the Krusty head is glued onto the box with two strips of glue. If you take that off, you get the standard box, which is also the same as the UK style box (Region 2, feel free to find it yourself on www.amazon.co.uk). Also, the Krusty head sticks out about 1" near the mouth. Very annoying. There you have it -- Limited edition box is just the standard box with a head glued to it. Easy to remove, doesn't damage the box.
Defense of the 11th Season March 7, 2008 CMF 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I too must come to the defense of Season 11. While it is no doubt true that seasons in recent years have gone downhill, I disagree with one of the other reviewers that mentioned for those that watched the Simpsons in their glory years, it slipped around the 10th season. Season 11 is clearly a sign that this statement is simply not true. I concur with the last reviewer in saying that "Missionary: Impossible" is my favorite Simpsons episode of all time. The episode is just jampacked in a way that never lets you stop laughing. Maybe not the classic Simpsons season 7 style, but wonderful in its own right. Despite what the snobs may want you to think, Season 11 still has high points that, in my opinion, make it worth owning.
