Super Sound, Super Easy February 14, 2008 North Idaho Dad 5 out of 12 found this review helpful
I'm not much of an audiophile, but obviously there's a HUGE difference between my laptop's tinny speakers and Logitech's AudioHub Notebook speakers. It's like night and day. The speakers themselves are incredibly easy to set up. Plug them into an outlet, then plug the USB cord into the laptop. It was that simple. The volume knob is readily accessible, and I really appreciate the fact that it lights up nice and bright so I can see that it's on. I leave these speakers permanently on the computer desk in our family room, although it's not a big deal to move it around. [...] Absolutely no negatives. Great sound, great price, great set-up. The only way the speakers could be better would be if there was some way to attach them to the laptop and run them off the computer's power source.
Great sounding speakers, easy to use February 21, 2008 TheBandit (SEA-TAC) 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
One thing that always puts me on edge about new electronics is the set-up process. I'm not completely technically inept, and I can follow written instructions, but that doesn't mean I look forward to any of it. With the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers, my fears were easily cast away. This product - well packaged, with nary an inch of wasted space - could literally not be any easier to use. Plug the AudioHub into a power outlet using the AC adapter, then plug the AudioHub into the laptop using the USB cable. Within seconds my laptop detected and accepted the speakers. There is a big volume knob on the righthand side of the Hub, which glows orange when the speakers on On. Voila. Next thing, I was cranking up some Led Zeppelin - reveling in the ability to actually listen to music on my laptop without thin, tinny audio that I had tried to get used to (but never could). The clarity of the audio is startlingly good. The bass end is resonant. If I had to make a criticism, it would be a relatively minor one: the volume doesn't quite go as loud as I wish it would. I'm not looking to damage my eardrums or anything like that, I just find that in a larger room, I want to boost the volume above the maximum level. But then again, no one said these speakers were designed for filling up a huge space. For sitting in front of the computer and watching a DVD or listening to music, I really am satisfied.
Excellent Sound Quality and Extra USB Ports June 25, 2008 M. A. Ramos (Florida USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I just took these speakers out of the box, plugged the USB cable using the included USB extender into my laptop, plugged in its power supply and then turned on my laptop. It automatically set itself up and started working. I must admit that I was amazed at how rich the sounds are that come out of this speaker system. I had video of a lecture that I could not hear at full volume on my laptop. But now it is like listening to the lecture live with a good quality sound system. And I only have the volume at the 20% level. Even at full volume, which is now much to loud, there is no distortion or hiss. I am very happy to have these. The AudioHub speaker system features an adjustable one-piece, three-chamber speaker system with an integrated subwoofer. You are able to adjust the speakers position so that they clear the sides of your laptop screen. The volume control/mute button on the AudioHub is lit so you always no when it is not muted. And the mute button turns off the sound without cutting power to the integrated USB hub, which has three built-in Hi-Speed USB ports. So you use one USB port for the speakers and have a two USB port net gain.
Logitech does it again! January 20, 2008 Margaux Paschke (New York) 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
This speaker system for notebooks was really easy to set up. You plug it into an electrical outlet, you plug the USB port into your notebook, you turn the power switch on the speaker system and you are ready to go - the software was automatically recognized by my IBM ThinkPad X60 with Windows XP. I had this up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. It doesn't get any easier then that! The speakers themselves are pretty good quality. I blasted music and the volume got very loud (when used in connection with PCs volume setting) with little to no distortion. This speaker system is not portable but it takes up little space on my desk. When I use my laptop elsewhere, I missed the speakers and the existing system seemed sooo weak by comparision. I've gotten cheaper speakers with the same quality (Creative Labs) but they were not as simple to install. Measurements: 17" long x 3" height x 5+" wide
Now all I need is a bigger screen January 20, 2008 R. SHARIFF (Jamaica, NY USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
The sound quality on these small speakers are amazing. These are very easy to hook up to your notebook, looks stylish and most important of all delievers excellent sound quality. I was always frustrated with the sound provided by my laptop but these speakers fixed the problem. I am not going to get into the technical know-hows of digital sound and all because honestly, I wouldn't know where to begin. Rest assured that this is a sound purchase and will improve the sound quality for your notebooks. Now, my only qualm is finding something that will give my notebook a bigger screen. One can only hope.
